Medical Receptionist

Job Details:

• First shift, Monday-Friday
• 7:00 am-3:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Perform secretarial duties using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures
• Scheduling appointments
• Billing patients and compiling and recording medical charts, reports, and correspondence
• Communications – (phone, FAX, email, regular mail) (Receive, Interpret, Answer or Forward, Initiate)
• Forms – (Print as needed, Create as needed, Revision Control, Orderly filing)
• Waiting Room – (Client Check-In, Enforce Rules, Keep Presentable)
• Time Keeper – (Inform Clinician of End Session Time, Client Waiting)
• Client Data – (collect, verify Insurance, Determine Client Cost, Data Entry, updates)
• Scheduling – (Referrals, New Clients, New Client Paperwork, Existing Clients, Cancellations, Rescheduling, Reminder Calls)
• Filing – (electronic and physical, add to, create new, orderly, 30-second retrieval)
• Billing and Payments – (Collect Client Payment at Sign-In, Document Payments, Generate Client Billing for those with a Balance)
• Other Duties – (hourly restroom check, disinfecting knobs, Maintaining Office presentability)

Position Requirements:

• Reception / Customer Greeting Experience
• Medical Office Experience (this is NOT a clinical position) Appointments, Schedules, Insurance Inquiries, Documentation, Filing, CoPays
• Computer Literate – (email, Word, Excel, capable of learning to use Electronic Health Record)
• Security Check Documentation required in hand for the interview
• Clearance for Handling Client Confidential Information (HIPAA)
• Clearance for handling Client Payments
