Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Farm General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a swine production facility in Cardington, Ohio. This role is responsible for managing animal welfare, staff supervision, production efficiency, regulatory compliance, and overall farm performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in swine operations and hold an active Certified Livestock Manager (CLM) license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the pig farm, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and animal welfare standards are met
  • Manage and supervise farm staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations related to livestock care, biosecurity, safety, and environmental standards
  • Monitor herd health, feeding programs, breeding cycles, and growth performance in coordination with veterinarians and nutrition specialists
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, control costs, and track production metrics
  • Maintain accurate records related to livestock, feed usage, medications, and regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate maintenance of facilities, equipment, and farm grounds
  • Implement and enforce biosecurity and animal welfare protocols
  • Communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to ownership or leadership

Qualifications

  • Required: Active Certified Livestock Manager (CLM) license
  • 3–5 years of management experience in swine or livestock operations
  • Strong working knowledge of swine health, nutrition, breeding, and housing systems
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call responsibilities

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in a farm environment with exposure to livestock, dust, and odors
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
