Overview:
Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analytics Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience working with real business data to support strategic decision-making across departments. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and eager to apply analytical skills in a fast-paced professional environment.
This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, and validate datasets from multiple sources
Assist in analyzing trends, patterns, and key performance indicators
Develop dashboards and recurring reports to support operational and leadership teams
Create data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms
Support ad hoc reporting requests and ongoing analytics projects
Assist with querying databases using Microsoft SQL Server
Document data processes and contribute to data accuracy and quality initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify insights and recommend improvements
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics or Business Analytics
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions)
Some familiarity with Power BI and/or Microsoft SQL Server
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively
