JOB DETAILS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Welcome customers, answer their questions, locate items, and offer recommendations
  • Scan items and ensure accurate quantity and pricing
  • Redeem coupons or input the correct price on the register
  • Produce a total for the transaction
  • Accept payments in cash, credit, or check
  • Calculate and return change for cash transactions
  • Process returns, handle exchanges, and issue refunds
  • Balance register by routinely counting cash
  • Request additional change when the register is low
  • Keep a tidy checkout area
  • Find solutions for dissatisfied customers or escalate them to a supervisor
  • May need to bag, box, or gift-wrap items to ensure safe transport
  • Stay updated on price changes, sales, discounts, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Follow company procedures regarding gift cards, coupons, or the sale of alcohol, cigarettes, and other items


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic math skills
  • Previous Customer Service experience is a plus
  • Accountable and accurate
  • Customer-focused
  • Problem-solver
  • May need to stand for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
  • Positive and friendly attitude
