Job Details:

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate the extrusion press to shape hot billets into products
• Install dies, mandrels, containers, heating coils, press tools, extrusion heads, and run-out bridging
• Remove the billet from the furnace when the color indicates the correct temperature and guide it along the extrusion press conveyor onto the press bed, and into the billet container
• Start ram that spreads billet into a container and forces it through the press
• Regulate the rate of extrusion to prevent rupture
• Start press run-out table and butt shears to guide extrusion from the press
• Pull extrusion along the conveyor to the racking table
• Spray dies with lubricant and caustic
• Accurately record crew time, number of billets used, and items processed
• May operate extrusion press equipped with a furnace that emits hot billets into press chamber for the ram to force through die
• May set up and operate extrusion press to shape hot, radioactive uranium fuel elements
• Inspect product for quality and damages
• Comply with health and safety regulations and always wear protective gear

Position Requirements:

• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred but not required
• Required to stand for long periods
• Engage in frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Work in a fast-paced environment with precision
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Great attendance and punctual
